Problems, problems, problems

'Thanks for your patience, we'll be with you soon.'

…............Seriously?!!, if my human hears that recorded message once more, she will kill someone.

 Grrrrr........................

Today has gone from bad to worse.

More than 2 weeks ago Ann realised that our cooker extractor fan wasn't working. You have no idea how hard it is to find an electrician in St Ives. She contacted the guy that she has used for years & years, and who said that he'd, 'pop in when he was passing'. And didn't?  So, then she phoned him again and he said he'd 'pop in' on Monday. And didn't?!! And for the last couple of days, she's been phoning him and leaving him messages every half an hour. OK, that's a slight exaggeration, but you get the picture?? He probably thinks she's a stalker?!! It's sooooo annoying. If a tradesperson can't do the job, why don't they just tell you they can't do it?  Anyway, to cut a very, very, long story short (and after phoning about 5 other electricians – one said he was too busy and the other four didn't bother to get back to her) we eventually managed to get someone to come out and look at our cooker hood this morning at about 12.30pm. Obviously we had to wait in all morning because he said he was coming in the morning. 12.30pm is actually the afternoon, but at least he showed up.
He's coming back at 8am on Friday morning to solve our problem.

After staying in all morning and watching about 4 hours of TV on catchup because the weather has been awful today so we couldn't do any basking on the sun terrace we went over to Morrisons in Penzance and then I went for a play on Long Rock Beach (in this BLIP). OMG, it was one of those afternoons where it was really mizzly & drizzly, and we didn't think it was raining. But it was. By the time we got back to the car we were both absolutely soaked through to our skins.

…................And then................... disaster................... when we got home, we had no wifi connection????????????????? Nothing was connecting and there was a red light on our wifi hub. Why do these things always happen just before we're due to leave our St Ives home? Sooooooooooo, I went straight into my bed because I knew Ann was in a really bad mood and I didn't want to be in the firing line. Ann phoned her wifi provider and listened for more than 40 mins to a message saying, 'Thank you for your patience, we'll be with you very soon.' WHY is there no personal service anymore??? …...............And you don't even want to know where we're up to with this. Needless to say, my human is not happy. She's onto her third glass of wine and tonight she was going to be alcohol free???!!!

….............And then......... if life wasn't bad enough, one of our smoke alarms is bleeping and she can't work out which one it is. Every time we come back to our St Ives home, Ann checks the battery operated smoke alarms and they were all fine a few weeks ago, but now one of them is driving us mad. OK, that's not a major problem. We can solve that.

However,.................................. bit of a RANT coming up here...............

Myself and my human try to come to our very lovely St Ives home every 2/3 months. As those of you who follow our BLIPS regularly will know, we rent out our St Ives home when we're not here.

My human worked in a holiday letting agency for 10 years and was responsible for doing all the audits to ensure they were up to 'Visit Britain' standards. Before that, she was an Assistant Hotel Manager for 6 years in a hotel in Cornwall. And after that she was the PA/Office Administrator for a linen/laundry/maintenance company. It's not like she doesn't know what tourists in Cornwall are like???

…............BUT OMG?!..................... we absolutely LOVE our house here and really, really, really, wish we were rich enough not to have to rent it out when we're not here.
