Willow Tearooms

A trip to Glasgow today chumming my daughter to the Glasgow Dental Hospital. We both have a long association with this place!

The walk from Queen Street Station up Sauchiehall Street takes you past the famous Willow Tearooms designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. His style is highly recognisable and, in my humble opinion, rather overdone these days. The work of Mackintosh's wife, Margaret Mcdonald Mackintosh, is, I think, preferable. All the same there's no denying CRM's influence on architecture and design.

This evening I'm at my first Board of Trustees meeting of the RDA project. I hope I can make a positive contribution.
