The Front Yard (Thursday 13th October 2022)

This tin drum was already beyond use when I rescued it from a side passage next to a derelict house on Curzon Street nearly thirty years ago. Since then it has been used as a container of plants in the front yard as it has slowly and beautifully corroded. It has now reached the point where the bottom of the drum is splitting open and before long the soil will be spilling out onto the gravel, so sadly we will soon have the job of emptying the contents and taking the empty drum to the recycling centre. I thought I would blip it before that happened.

With thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The WAEVE - Can I Call You (2022)
On today's Roundtable (6 Music) the guests were three of the cast of The Archers, the ones who play David Archer, Rex Fairbrother and the marvellous Tracy Horrobin. None of them particularly liked this track by the WAEVE, but I loved it. The WAEVE are Graham Coxon (from Blur) and his partner Rose Elinor Dougall (from the Pipettes, and also, it turns out, granddaughter of newsreader Robert Dougall), and this single will be on their debut album, to be released next year.
