Membrane work complete

There has been great progress on the damp-proofing work at the back of our house. All is now ready for the plasterer to come on Monday. A few days later, Roger (who has been doing most of the work) will return to replace the skirting boards. Then we will wait six months for the plaster to dry out completely before we can redecorate. In the meantime, the new shower room will be fitted. My blip shows the area of the old fireplace in the spare bedroom with the hearth removed and new floorboards added. (For comparison, please see Tuesday's blip.)

I did quite a lot of work today. I spent an hour or so this morning reviewing one of Rachel's PhD chapters to give her some immediate feedback in an online meeting at 09:00. Then I met Leo to discuss my contribution to an event next month. Later on in the day I sent Rachel some information to help with a job application.

We also hosted two sets of visitors today. At lunchtime Helen and Ian called in en route from Bamburgh to Pitlochry. We haven't seen Helen for about 15 years, and have never met Ian before. It was lovely to see them  - we could have chatted for hours. In the evening Jon came over for curry and Catan (and éclairs, Doddington cheese and biscuits, Azul, and a little too much wine). My losing streak stretches even further.

Exercise today: 5k run (9146 steps including run).
