Settling in

All three of the new 'rescue hens' (see yesterday) produced an egg during the course of the day although we were told not to expect this. But since it has been their sole raison d'etre I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise.

Once they done this duty they ventured out to scratch and peck. Tackling their first worms was quite a challenge: imagine someone  who has never been faced with spaghetti before. 
Windfall apples and fresh greenery, along with  regular chook food  were also on the menu.
