Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Friday -- Daughter Deidre

Pronounced “deed-dra.

Today we needed to go to the Costco in San Luis Obispo to get a prescription for our canine Mitzi. We discovered several years ago that even non-Costco members can get prescriptions at Costco. I guess our veterinarian told us about that. So we used to go just for that; then we finally gave-in and purchased the least expensive membership option.

So we called this a field trip day and Mr. Fun, myself, our daughter, and the two pups headed inland for SLO.

We decided the first thing we'd do is stop at the Madonna Inn's Copper Cafe for breakfast and then go from there. After our meal, our daughter let me capture some photos of her with the Madonna mascot.

We were very close to Laguna Park and we knew the pups would appreciate the opportunity to get out of the car and sniff a tree or two, so we made a quick detour into the park grounds and enjoyed a few minutes there just walking through the grass and looking over at Laguna Lake and the houses whose yards enjoy the shoreline across the lake from the park.

Then we headed toward Costco. When we arrived in the parking lot the three of us went separate directions. Mr. Fun went to Costco to retrieve the prescription for Mitzi; I went into the Home Goods store. I always look there for a favorite jam that I only find there; and our daughter (who we call Deed) wanted to take a quick look in the Old Navy store. Then in the same parking lot, but a little distance away is the Home Depot store. Mr. Fun wanted to stop there to get a protective cover for the new barbecue. He also purchased a special gizmo called a "shaker" basket to grill sliced and chopped veggies.

The next stop was Trader Joe's. We rarely shop there because it's just not close, but they have lots of items we like to buy. Today Mr. Fun wanted to gather lots of veggies to put in the "shaker" wire basket he had just purchased. Our daughter wanted to look at flowers. Trader's has a lovely array of flowers. I wanted to look at everything, especially seasonal products like spicy cider, JoeJoe's pumpkin flavored cookies, and their assortment of pumpkins and gourds.

When we got back to the car, we were done!  "Point this vehicle toward the coast and let's get home," was what we were all thinking. It was a fun outing, but the slow pace of home was enjoyed once we got all our purchases put away.

Good night from
California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
