Tapas

Struggled to sleep last night as it was very very hot in the room. As our room opens directly onto a shared terrace we couldn’t open the door to get a breath of air or at least we were reluctant to do that.

I woke around 9 and headed to the supermarket to pick up some croissants and other bits for breakfast as we had planned a quiet day. My brother was golfing with some local friends so we were on our own.

We asked at reception if the air conditioning could be sorted but no luck unfortunately as they cited government regulations to save energy. They did take a note of our room number to pass to the management which didn’t really help.

Mr PHL and I had a delicious tapas lunch before we lay by the pool toasting. Well I toasted, Mr PHL stayed inside trying to keep cool.

We met my brother and his golfing buddies for a drink before dinner at Tinos again and then had to rush to get ready for dinner.

Our room was even hotter so Mr PHL went to ask again if anything could be done and we were offered another room away from the terrace which had working air conditioning. However we had to move there and then so cue much throwing of things in a suitcase and rushing between floors. However we did it and made it to the restaurant 5 minutes after the others!

After dinner the others headed back to the hotel whilst my brother, Mr PHL opted for a nightcap at the Piano bar. We managed to foil a group of young ladies who thought it would be really funny to steal a cushion form the outside terrace by chasing them up the street! The bar staff were grateful.
