Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2022 Monday — Little by Little

We are delighted with our backyard. Sitting at the top patio and then the one below that with the fire pit -- are both very nice.

The story has many paragraphs, if not chapters -- 37 days straight of construction -- there were many delightful conversations and definitely some rough spots and difficult moments with our contractor. That’s probably true with all home construction projects.

I'd like to create a "Blurb" book to capture the details. My goal was to not have a mudslide in my house, which I was very concerned about after one of the large rocks looked like it had moved during a heavy rain storm in January 2021. Then we would have had a serious clean-up and still the need to fix our property.

We will eventually need to hire gardening help to get the flower beds planted. Today Mr. Fun was raking and smoothing some of the dirt. There is one level of flower beds that is difficult for us to reach, so a gardener will come later.

For now we are just resting in the wonder of it all and doing a little fiddling with dirt and rocks and lots of thoughts.

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!

P.S. The Bird of Paradise flower is from our front porch flower bed; I needed one more photo to fill the collage. I know — it has nothing to do with the backyard. Oh well.
