Back Blip

Our usual monthly meet-up with former work colleagues in Glasgow. It's a city with some wonderful architecture if one looks up beyond the modern shop-fronts (or more than occasionally nowadays boarded-up shop-fronts).

My walk to the pub where we were meeting took me along Sauchiehall Street, and along the way I noticed a faded plaque on the wall of one building. Grecian Chambers, designed by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson, 1865 it stated. I crossed the road for a better view and got a few photos of the architect's designs (main, plus extra).

Sauchiehall Street is a sad shadow of its former self, but it's good that there are still some gems to be found if one looks.
