Homeward bound

Final bits of packing in the cases then the usual shuffling required to get both of them equalised. There was a handy set of scales in the lobby even if it did cost €1 every time we put a case on the scale!

Minibus arrived promptly and we made it to the airport for just after 9.15. Check in was a breeze, the scales were kind and only had to go through security twice as my Lorus watch apparently set off the scanner.

Picked up a sandwich fir the plane and a coffee and headed to the right set of gates to wait for the gate announcement. Funny thing happened when we say the queue dwindle. Lined up and got to the agent who laughed and said we were on Ryanair and not the Jet2 flight which she was currently boarding. Who puts 2 flights to Edinburgh on different airlines leaving within 30 minutes of each other leaving from the sane gate? Needless to say our flight was a little late taking off but we did eventually get on board and settled. A good tail wind meant we landed only a few minutes late. Good news for my brother and the others as they had a very short transfer time to catch the train back to Inverness apart from the fact that train was cancelled and they had to pay a little extra to travel on a different train company to save getting home at 9.30.

We collected the car, drove home and I got the washing organised and the first of 3 loads on and the suitcases emptied before we left to collect Phin. He seemed very happy to see us and he looked healthy and was very smiley.

Miss PHL called to say she was dropping off the car and could she bring her new boyfriend and his puppy round to meet us. Mr PHL ran over the carpets and I watched Phin. Miss PHL took Phin for a bath (he was quite dirty!) and we chatted to the new boyfriend. He seems pleasant enough but it’s hard to tell from a couple of hours chat.

Headed up for an early night after they left but not before taking a pic of my amber tree, intending to post it for MonoMonday but failed to get there.

Backblipped 18th.
