Attacking Buzzard

This looks like a Common buzzard, Buteo Buteo or Buse Variable in French.

This is one of the pair that has a nest near here and as you see this one, it was attacking a pair of black kites who were getting too near to the nest - it was quite a spectacular dog fight, the kites were well seen off as the second buzzard joined in too.

Thank you for the comments on yesterdays Frog's Porn picture and the interest that you have shown in my hide.

I took a couple of pics of it today as I did a stake-out for the kingfishers - unfortunately there were a pair of, what I am sure were goshawks around - I have never seen them here, but they certainly shut the birdlife up pretty effectively.

The upshot being, no pics of kingfishers, but Here is the hide
