New neighbour

After breakfast I got stuck into some work and Mr MacD got stuck into some gardening.

Our recycling bin wasn’t emptied this morning and there was a notice attached to say that the wrong items had been put in it.  This was most upsetting, as we are very careful about what we put in the recycling, and the items hadn’t been put there by us.  Someone had obviously come along during the night and deposited the offending items. Mr MacD wrote a polite note explaining what had happened and asking whoever did it to please not do it again. He also said that we were happy for anyone to put small, accepted items in our bin.  He delivered the note to letterboxes at several houses on either side of us.

After lunch and a few chores, I started working again, but there was a computer glitch.  I eventually logged a support ticket and received a response to say that there had been a problem with the server. Very frustrating.  However, I was then able to make good progress and finish the EDM I was working on.

There was a knock at door and I opened it to find our new Chinese neighbour from next door standing there. She was holding Mr MacD’s note and a notice that had been left on her recycling bin - for a different reason to us.  She was very nice and assured me that she hadn’t put anything in our bin, and invited us to come over for a cup of tea, so it was a good outcome.

Mr MacD cooked a delicious vegetable curry and chapatis for supper, and then we watched the New Zealand Celebrity Treasure Island Bake Off - very funny

When the sun was in the right position I took a photo of the pale blue Aquilegia that’s just started flowering.  Also the Geranium Maderense (Madeira Geranium), because I only just realised that it has beautiful furry purple stems.
