Clean air

Lichen, flourishing in the clean air of Kinneff, has colonised this gravestone so extensively that it is difficult to see the mortality symbols on it. In the band at the base of the stone the hourglass, skull and cross bones are relatively easy to see. The winged soul at the top of the stone seems to have a very downturned mouth - perhaps an expression of dismay at the gradual disappearance of the inscription and symbols.
