Light fandango

A lovely evening in Newcastle, where MrM had booked tickets for 'In the Court of the Crimson King' at the Everyman Cinema.

First slight hitch was finding somewhere to park in Newcastle, as we'd failed to realise that there was a football match this evening. That achieved, we walked into town to find the restaurants and cafés, including the one where we'd hoped to eat, full to overflowing!

In our search for food we almost passed the Everyman. But on seeing that it advertised food, went in. We'd never been to an Everyman Cinema before, and hadn't realised that it would be different from any other.

We had a meal in a very pleasant bar (reflected in the Blip). Then into Screen 2 for the film. Wow! The seating was a mixture of comfy sofas and armchairs complete with cushions, with plenty of leg-room much to MrM's delight. As we settled into our sofa, we ordered drinks and popcorn, and other people ordered food. And all amazingly civilised - no slurping or loud crunching, and no-one talking during the film. An unexpectedly fabulous experience! A bit too extravagant to go often, but I'm sure we'll be back...

The film was very good too, quite enthralling!

There's an entry in the Urban Dictionary defining 'fandango' as "when someone gets fired after a very short tenure due to ridiculous behaviour". Is Liz Truss still PM?
