Feather care

There was a lot of preening and flapping of wings when I was at the loch for a walk this afternoon. The parent swans and their three almost fully grown cygnets were all taking part in a spot of feather care. The mallards were having a good splash in the water too. It was sunny and warm for a short while, the perfect time to get the feathers cleaned and rearranged.
