Lake Simtustus

We’ve embarked on a short road trip - just 3 hours from home. Lake Simtustus is located near Madras, Oregon in the high plains of central Oregon. We’ve planned this long weekend for quite a while now and it’s really a perfect time to get away - late October that is. It was rainy in Portland today, although I managed to play 7 (of 9) holes of golf with my friends before giving up. Husband Dan and I left home midday, stopped near Mt. Hood to visit his daughter and grandson, and arrived here (https://www.lakesimtustusresort.com/) around 4:30. This place was clever enough to build several tiny homes - do you know that term? Have a look at their website and you’ll get the gist. A small place for one, never mind two. But it’s actually super cute and although I could never do it permanently, three nights will be fun. We’re sorting out the flow of the tiny space…and it’s so darned quiet and peaceful here.
