Green Heron

Striking like lightening this green heron caught a cockroach on the banks of the waterway this afternoon. 

Beautifully camouflaged against the vegetation I wouldn't have noticed him as he was standing motionless until he moved into a sandy area. He also caught tiny fish in the shallows but this catch I was surprised with as I initially thought he had caught an anole and it wasn't until I got it on the computer that I saw the detail.
