Magaruque

Today involved a snorkelling trip to Magaruque Island, off Vilankulo. It was a delightful outing with some good snorkelling time in strong currents and decent marine life. The island’s fishing community handled their catch on the same beach as we had a copious lunch of fish, squid, salad and various other accoutrements.

Some Central African colleagues were very inexperienced in the water and they loved the adventure. Nancy, from Kenya, was also facing her first time snorkelling and said she felt joyful and liberated afterwards. It was excellent seeing her so chuffed.

A final group dinner and some beach strolls rounded off the night. We all part ways tomorrow, and excitingly I am staying in Mozambique for a few weeks.
