Seventeen.....

How the flip is my nephew George now 17?!! Scary how time has flown by!!  So we had a trip to Surrey today to go and share in his birthday celebrations - the weather forecast was atrocious and the M25 was rather wet and treacherous in places but thankfully the drivers were being sensible and I think it kept a lot of people at  home too!

So a lovely day was spent with the family, George had his first driving lesson, and everyone enjoyed the home made cake!  

They have a huge oak tree in their garden and so are fighting a losing battle with the acorns this year! I've never known it be such a prolific year for them, even when I'm out walking. The 5 squirrels we watched in their garden were having great fun burying a load, but it was even too many for them!

And we left at 4 to avoid madness on the roads, and the approaching storm and got home in the quickest time ever - why can't the M25 be like that all the time?!!  The downpour and thunderstorm reached us 10 minutes after we got home! Perfect timing! Quiet evening planned now!
