About as far from Mono Monday as one can get... 

A return to Westonbirt and, oh my, what a difference three nights of heavy rain and winds can make to an autumnal display! The half term holiday crowds were out in force, but while there were plenty of fantastic and colourful displays still there to marvel at, many of the ones we applauded last week were mainly on the ground beneath the bare branches. Timing is everything. Still, this fellow was still transitioning and was magnificent in his technicolour dream coat...

The weather still can't make up its mind, but we made it home dry. Result.

Ooh, and talking of results... the least bad outcome in the race for unelected leader of the UK. Sunk was the one most MPs wanted before Truss was elected by the Tory party membership, and he's managed to bag the job for now. I imagine the markets will be happy, and I wonder if that will lure him into an early election...
