The Beach!

Winding path, down, down.
Hit the beach.  Fresh air, waves crash.
Boy leaps over rocks.

Ben slept well but I was a bit wakeful in the new setting.  Tired this morning but off to Bridlington for swimming in the pool with slides.  Mr KCNQ2Haiku and older teen came along for the ride but not the swim.  In the car on the way there we were discussing the difference between a  monolith and a megalith (we are unsure, size we assume.. but we were unsure what measurement would make the difference, categorically). Then we started wondering what the difference between standing stones and monoliths is?  Then a voice piped up from the back, "what's the difference between a monolith and a shepherds pie??"  Which really made us laugh!
After our swim we drove up to Hunmanby Gap which was really lovely, there was a little beach cafe overlooking the sea and a steep walk down to the beach.  I'd forgotten how much Ben loves the sand, we haven't been to the sea for a while but he pretty much dropped to his knees and just ran his hands through the sand chattering away to himself.  He was quite grubby by the end but happy :-D So that's a win.
We had a walk around the cottage this afternoon and popped into a brewery to fetch some take away beer, got chatting to the lovely couple who ran it.  They were really sweet with Ben and it turns out they have 13 year old twin boys with autism.  Small world.   Back to the cottage now, early night is on the cards!
