Former gas receiving station

This remarkable building looks like a coach house from a bygone era. Yet it does not belong to an ancient farm, but to the new construction that was built shortly after the Second World War. It is in fact a former gas receiving station of Limagas. The municipality gave permission for construction in 1949. In a gas receiving station, gas from the provincial gas pipeline is transferred to the local distribution network. This makes it an indispensable link in the first local municipal gas network. For years, the station has stood between the typical portico flats from the time of the Reconstruction. These have now made way for new construction.
