Doc!

We're in Sheffield for S's Ph.D. graduation - an event somewhat delayed by Covid as the doctorate was actually awarded quite a while ago.  

Covid still intervened, as the traditional handshake was replaced by a sort of hat-doffing fly-by.

Don't underestimate how proud I am of his achievement - something I tried myself and packed in after a year or so of what I'd now recognise as mental health issues - and how thankful I am for those who supported S through the tough times.

Mortar board for PhD is a bit disappointing though Sheffield - I was expecting at least a Grand Master Ecky Thump floppy cap; though I suppose my training was on the other side of the Pennines... ;o)
