It Started Down Under

Disappointments

Today we got up really early to see the dolphins at the Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury. They're supposed to come really close to the beach there every morning. However, we weren't lucky. We waited from 8 to 11 and no dolphin was even sighted!

We decided to travel further to Busselton. There they have a 2km long jetty (as you can see in the picture). Unfortunately, the jetty was closed and wouldn't open until 2010! So we couldn't walk to the end and we couldn't see the underwaterlife at the end of the jetty (there is an underwater observatory).

Nothing left to see there... So we went to Cape Naturaliste. There they had a small lighthouse and it should have a great view over the ocean and coast. First we drove into a wrong street which brought us at Rocky Point (a wonderful small deserted beach). Then we found the lighthouse... Its surroundings were burned and the only thing we found there were annoying flies.

So we quickly jumped back into the car and left for Margaret River where we stayed at our hotel, had dinner in the local Settler's Tavern and enjoyed the live music.
