Tomorrow may be Halloween but it’s also the first day of deer hunting season in Maine, which runs until November 26. Hunters are allowed to use firearms, bow and arrow and muzzleloaders to kill deer. Our property is already posted “No Hunting” but we needed to replace a couple of signs that are visible from the road. Let there be no doubt that we abhor hunting of any kind. Thankfully our neighbors across the street also post their land. Tomorrow the countdown begins. Every day we hold our breath hoping not to hear any gunshots off in the distance • A beautiful Autumn day, truly a gift that we’re able to enjoy another sunny, warm day after a frosty start • The uke practice is going well, I think. Some days I’m all thumbs and catch my head drifting, but then other days seem easier. I’ve got four chords now but find strumming patterns most challenging. Practice! Practice! Practice! • The supplies for the new deck arrive tomorrow :)
