Birthday girl

Our lovely daughter was 30 today (which is, frankly, hard to believe! It's it really that long ago?!). I well remember looking out of the hospital window in 1992 to a grey day with bare trees and lowering skies and thinking how wrong that was for such a wonderful event. We are so proud of the woman she has become and happy that she's found her lifelong friend, so I thought a picture of them both was appropriate.

We celebrated with a meal out in the evening with a tasting menu and wine flight at a local restaurant. A good way to eat for someone like me who is a natural grazer!

It came at the end of a long day which was a bit disastrous initially and took a long while to sort out. Our campsite left quite a lot to be desired and, on top of that, when we went to leave we had a series of alarms go off in the motorhome which had us completely flummoxed. We are so much wiser now!!  Our automatic doorstep jammed and in doing so its overworked motor blew a fuse which then topped other stuff. After a LOT of Googling and eventual talking to our dealer and Autosleepers direct, we managed to actually fiddle enough to get to a local dealer for a bit of incredibly considerate help and a couple of suitable fuses, but by that time we had missed our planned special birthday activity with LD which was a big blow for us all. We now have more fuses!!

I booked an appointment with a vet to take a look at Berry as she's been limping badly since yesterday morning and we can't see anything obvious.  Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Very thankful that we finally made it out with our lovelies this evening.
