Great Grey Shrike

I had heard that a Great Grey Shrike was at Whixall Moss.  It's a scarce autumn and winter bird to the UK.  I also know that people have gone their for days and not seen it but F and I decided to go and have a look.

We were extremely lucky that we caught sunshine between periods of showery rain and also lucky enough to see it.   We were thrilled! Information is here.

Before leaving we saw a Marsh Harrier flying a long way away, we saw one in Somerset a couple of weeks ago, their range is really increasing.

My extra is of I helping her mum prepare a pumpkin.
