Quod oculus meus videt

Goldfinch

I spent much of the morning collecting fallen leaves fro the garden.  I was quite chuffed just after I finished, less so a couple of hours later when the stiff breeze had brought down even more leaves to replace those collected and deposited in the garden bin!

One consequence of the leaves falling is that I can take more photographs of the birds perched on branches, rather than only when they are gripping onto the bird feeders in the garden.  This was definitely an E.B. late in the day, just before the sun set.  Our garden is north east facing so it gets very little direct sunlight at this time of year, hence the ISO levels seen in the image.
