Quod oculus meus videt

Pipes

We've relocated for a few days, visiting one of our favourite areas of the country.  We got there early afternoon, so took a walk around the village before darkness drew in.

The local parish church has been undergoing renovation for a couple of years, but this time there was no evidence of scaffolding around the tower.  Instead an open door allowed a view into a new work scene.  I looked in and was allowed to go further to see that the organ was being installed.  This box was one of 6 stacked up with the smaller pipes that will be some of the last to be replaced.  Larger diameter pipes were spread over trestles on the other side.

Now that the clocks have gone back it was getting dark at about 4 pm, probably because of the mountains that surround the village, blocking the last vestiges of light.  We're looking forward to some great scenery and meeting up with friends over the next few days.
