Barney's back

A lovely day, with a slight hitch early on when MrM couldn't turn off the water when he'd finished his shower! I had my shower, and straight afterwards MrM dismantled the on/off handle and stopped the water with the aid of a pair of pliers. A plastic part had worn away. Hoping we'll be able to buy a new handle rather than replacing the whole shower.

Lee and Wendy came for lunch, with little Barney. MrM cooked a traditional Sunday roast, and I made dessert. Between courses, aware that darkness would fall earlier today, we went for a walk on Weetwood Moor. It was very mild, a brighter day than we've had of late and very clear, with fabulous views over to the Cheviot (extra). Not far into the walk Barney must have caught scent of something interesting, jumped over a wall into a woodland with dense brackeny undergrowth, and disappeared into the distance. Training forgotten, selective hearing and his terrier characteristics took over. We spent the next 30 minutes searching and shouting for Barney until MrM eventually located him on the edge of the moor, some distance away, and managed catch him. We enjoyed the rest of the walk with Barney firmly on the lead, and he won't be let off again for a while.

Back for dessert - molten chocolate puddings - before Wendy and Lee left for their caravan.
