Early Sundown

So the clocks did their "autumn fall back" trick and dark at 5 o'clock became dark at 4 o'clock, which means sundown is not long after three in the afternoon. Theoretically we got an extra hour's sleep but no one told my body so it perked awake at its summertime time, despite going to bed very late after winding down from last night's concert.
I was feeling tired but hoped a walk would kickstart me. Jan was doing political stuff on one side of town and Karin was going to the open-air county museum on the other side of town so that was my walk organised.
With the sun shining and no wind it was fun to walk over the bridge and along the water front.
I paused to watch two ducks eating crab apples. The apples were rather small but even so I was impressed the ducks were swallowing them nearly whole!  One duck look longingly up at the tree, while the other duck had pefected the art of jumping up with a flap of the wings, grabbing an apple and then ceasing to flap and falling to earth, hopefully with apple secure in its beak.
The county museum was showcasing handicrafts, and had organised activities for people of all ages to try out handicrafts. It was fairly busy, with a lot of kids sawing wood and carving fruit. There was a wonderful show of embroidered cushions. The cushions were new, but based on examples from the 17 and 1800's, which in turn were inspired by even older paintings on chests, doors etc.
Jan blipped those so I took a picture of the golden clock on the old town hall, reflecting the early setting sun.
Back home we shared our soup with Karin, who then headed north to her own home while we collapsed on the sofa and finished the third and final   "Derry Girls".
