The Princess and the Dog

Downplayed To Say The Least

Dear O'H dear and The Normals,

Turns out that Charlie Dudley’s encounter in 1963 with Kiwi Jaws wasn’t quite the tickle on the leg that Lovely Tea Jenny described. She sent me the report of the incident (mainly to amuse herself)…

“He described the shark’s behavior as aggressive and frenzied as the shark continued to shark him.”

INJURY: Deep lacerations to the left hand, left thigh and left calf. There were visible teeth marks on his leg and flesh was removed from the posterior left leg.

DAMAGE TO YACHT: There were teeth marks of the shark in Dudley’s yacht.

It then went on to explain that Charlie ended up needed 100 stitches on his leg and lost a finger! Probably due to the shark sharking him!

In case you are wondering, the report also included vital info like “MOON PHASE: Full Moon, December 1, 1963”.

THAT’S WHERE MY FRIEND SENT ME TO SWIM. With only a rashie* for protection (which would be as much use as arm bands in a tsunami). Luckily I can handle the jandal.**

C

*rash vest. Pronounced rehshie!

**means handle the situation. I may have spent a large portion of the evening looking up kiwi sayings and p1ssing myself!
