A Day In The Life

Día de los Muertos

Day of the Dead is mostly observed in México when souls of deceased friends and family are welcomed back to visit the living. After midnight October 31, the gates of heaven are opened for children to return November 1, with November 2 for adults. Food, drink, dance and music are all part of the celebrations! • We have a small collection of these souls purchased when we lived in Southern Texas in a place called McAllen. I drove into Reynosa, Mexico, for work, but we often crossed the border to shop or eat at a few favorite restaurants. It was amazing to see the celebratory altars created by loved ones at local cemeteries • The 2016 animated Disney film “CoCo” is a beautiful film about Día de los Muertos, if interested • The deck will be finished today!
