Honey fungus.

One of several clumps which are attacking the stump of a large Copper Beech which had to be felled about four years ago. This is now getting to a later stage where the caps have flattened out.
Also in view are some Turkey Tails on the side of the stump.
Both of these are among the more common species of fungi found in the village
