All in the timing

We're gradually moving north towards home. There have been flash floods there and the weather we experienced over lunchtime today was probably similar to yesterday's in Orkney. I had just given Berry a restricted wander and popped her back in the motorhome when the heavens opened. You can vaguely see here the view we planned to enjoy - so thankful to be in the warmth and enjoying the bright bunting, as well as the obscured view up the Moray Firth!

I visited a quilting shop (of course I bought something!) and then we wandered up to Dingwall to see a textile artist's exhibition - wonderful fabric manipulation to create her landscape 'pictures'.

We've now topped up the LPG gas in the motorhome for the first time - an interesting experience but it's good (and necessary) to learn these things. It came with an silver lining in that we took a wrong turn as we left the garage and ended up on a much more scenic and quiet road - a real pleasure. It meant that plans to go into Dornoch were scuppered but we can do that another day.

Time to turn in.
