Living my dream

Daisy

The daisy bush is shouting ‘yellow’ across the garden at the moment with these glorious blooms.

Today seems to have been almost entirely taken up with lunch. 12 of us met up in the local pub to mark my birthday..which is tomorrow. I am fortunate indeed to have such a lovely bunch of friends who all seem to rub along well together, or who at least put up with each other for one meal a year for my sake.

Among them were farmers, a restorative justice worker, an environmental education teacher, a climate crisis writer and campaigner, a musician, a communications advisor, a meat factory worker, an engineer, and a race course caretaker. Some retired of course but still with fingers in their pies of interest.

There was lively and challenging conversation, as well as heaps of inconsequential chat, banter and laughter. The food was good. All in all a good early celebration.
