ALMOST FINISHED

It's MOTORHEAD SUNDAY and many of you motorheads (petrolheads) know that Road America, America's National Park of Speed and my home track, was completely repaved, all 4.048 miles of it including the main grid.

This shot shows some work being done on the grid itself while the first base layer of paving was settling.  It's amazing how efficient the operation was having two pavers, side-by-side, leaving an almost seamless pave from edge to edge.

The plan was not to stray from the original dimensions of the track so thousands of waypoints were laid out along the track so that the paving units were accurate to within 1/10th inch from the original measurements.  Truly astounding.
