Haraldsvík

A breezy day, mostly cloudy too.  The odd shower this evening.

Another day off, and thankfully slept better last night.  Walkies with Sammy after breakfast, and popped into Madeline's for a cuppa.  Back to the surgery at 11am.  More examinations, and new core building exercises to help my muscles.  Headed to Unst in the afternoon.  A good catchup with Julie and family, and tea too.  Mam was also up, and I drove her home tonight.

While everyone was either at school or work, me and mam headed out for a walk around the village.  A big part of Unst's heritage is Viking related, with many sites dotted around the isle.  Old Norse, Haraldsvík, named after King Harald Fairhar of Norway, landed here to make claim on Shetland.  Here sits a reconstruction of a Viking house and the Skidbladner, a replica of the Gokstad ship.  Taken at Haroldswick, Unst.
