No Veins!

I can see why I had to be admitted a day before the surgery. I had blood taken(4 different nurses had a go), urine sample, spinal X-ray, consultation with the ward doctor, then with the Anaesthsetist. A visit from the physiotherapist and from someone to fit a back brace. Then I was whisked down for a Central Venous Catheter as they didn’t think my one vein would be enough for the op. It was done under local anaesthetic because they couldn’t find a vein to administer sedation. Funny that.
I am quite impressed with the care on this ward.
