5 Star Station

Following our excellent evening in Kilmarnock - today we travelled up the coast via Wemyss Bay to stay overnight in Greenock.
Wemyss Bay is the main ferry port for a trip to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. The railway station was awarded 5 stars in Simon Jenkins Book '100 Best British Stations' (Hebden Bridge Station was also in this book). The station links directly to the ferry - you can transfer without getting wet - which is a good idea on the West coast of Scotland
A truly stunning station which I think deserves a Blip and some extras.
The statue of the young boy has been named 'Bobby' and depicts a young boy leaving for a  hoilday at Rothesay.
