Photographing Ailsa

For our return journey to Maison MD from Greenock we decided to follow the coast road down to Girvan before turning inland to Newton Stewart and the A75 back to England......
I've always had a fascination for Ailsa Craig, an uninhabited island in the Firth of Clyde, 9 miles off the coast of Ayrshire at Girvan.
It measures about ¾ of a mile north-south by ½ a mile east-west, and rises abruptly to 1120 ft / 340 m.
The wind was so strong I struggled to stand upright and keep steady as I tried to get a Blip.  Then these two ladies came along with their mobile phones - and had the same problem. Ailsa Craig is a very popular photograph :-)
