Reservoir Day

A nice day off being a tourist!

As we left Penrith we thought we might get wet today, the clouds were gathering in the distance and we could tell that rain was falling. However the cameras, tripods and picnic lunch was packed so we intended to make the most of it.

We headed out to Brough then turned off towards Middleton-in- Teesdale to take a look at the five reservoirs up on the moors. Neither of us had been there before so it's always nice to have something fresh to blip.

As we came over the summit we could see Selset Reservoir with the sun creating a gleam on the water. I was so pleased my companion could find somewhere to park on the narrow road.

Other good things about the day were seeing red grouse and eating ice-creams!

I couldn't help but remember what the two of us had been doing on Bank Holiday Monday in 2000.
