Time On My Hands

Whilst the boiler installers got on with their work I set up a little still life on the dining table….a lovely colourful Acer leaf from next door’s tree.  It is on a piece of glass on top of some black velvet fabric to create a sort of mirror effect.

I tried to use a little LED panel for light but it picked out every tiny piece of dust…so I finished up just using natural light from the patio doors….I still had a bit of work to do to get rid of some of the bigger bits of dust!

This is a 30 shot focus stack…

There are a few patches ‘out of focus’ - where the software has chosen to pick out the fabric under the glass rather than the reflection. This is evident along the lower part of the reflection.

As at lunchtime the old boiler has gone, the new one is on the wall and the new ‘Nest’ controller and thermostat are installed. There is a big hole in the wall waiting to be bricked up when the flue is installed….apparently they sent the wrong sort of flue so one guy has gone off to get a replacement!
