Rusty Mixer

First job of the day was to call the new boiler installation people…I suspected that there was a fault as we had been unable to turn the heating off yesterday….we got hotter and hotter during the evening and eventually at bedtime I had to switch the whole system off. The pump for the central heating had also got extremely hot from continuous running (I couldn’t even touch it - and I have asbestos fingers)…

Anyway, an engineer arrived within the hour - and found that the frost thermostat hadn’t been set properly and so it thought the garage was freezing and was signalling the boiler to stay on permanently. Whilst he was resetting the system, the heating pump failed completely - he thought it had probably seized due to overheating. So we now have a shiny new (and energy efficient) pump!! Fortunately the repair is covered by the heating maintenance plan we pay them for!

I popped out for a short walk late morning - and found this rusty mixer hiding behind some old doors near a lock up yard!!
