"Keeper of the Tradition"

Had plans to meet old friends for lunch up north today but it got postponed because one of them has a cough.   I can’t help but think how just a few years ago, we wouldn’t think about canceling lunch because of a cough.    Anyway,  all of a sudden a free day.  :-) All good.

So here’s that boatyard again!    I do find it interesting to see what’s there and learn about the names and I didn’t know this US Coast Guard “keeper-class cutter”.    Henry Blake was the first New Dungeness Lighthouse keeper in 1858. (interesting story if you have any time )  … there are 14 of these Coast Guard vessels all named after lighthouse keepers.   The Henry Blake, built in 1998  in WI but stationed at Everett Naval Base, maintains all 235 aids to navigation in Puget sound and along the WA Coast( as well as environmental protection, Search and Rescue and homeland security. )    Henry Blake’s motto is “keeper of the tradition”
You can see the UW’s  Tommy Thomson to left up in dry dock, probably getting her hull painted.

And I got my cookie package off  in the mail….. with another fresh set of healthier cookies as well.. (peanut butter, brown sugar,  egg, Protein Powder !!  and chocolate chips.   NO butter no flour.   I think they are tasty..we’ll see what grandson thinks.(Extra)   And I found a repair place to take the mixer…next week.
other extra...lovely yellow gas pipes in from of the condo
