Curves and Styles.

My entry of 7 November led to some discussions on the range of styles for interiors.Which Style For You?

One style I mentioned was Rough Luxe. Today’s entry shows an example of Rough Luxe in our own home.  This is the horizontal curve of the ceiling and the vertical curve of the wall where one original Caithness Stone Stair leads to the second level.

The Church of Scotland had covered these walls in a fairly innocuous cream and it had gradually pealed away revealing the original colour scheme of 1841.

The pine wood dado has been stained and finished to what was the original finish.

Innocuous cream was applied throughout the building and has been carefully removed to reveal the original colour scheme.

I have never understood this fear of bright colours.

Today is very stormy and windy. We decided to stay at home.

With luck the fallen leaves will be blown into drifts.
