Setting up

I spent the whole of the day setting up this weekend's exhibition with KP in Langdyke Trust's Torpel Cabin.  Sorting out the interior of the cabin went pretty smoothly. Moving the sheep from the main field into a small paddock, to enable car-parking next to the cabin, was a much trickier proposition.

I went out with Chris, the site manager, to help with the move. Twelve of the flock followed him meekly into the paddock, lured by the bucket of sheep nuts that he was carrying, but the thirteenth was wary and ran off at the last moment. Despite various ploys we just couldn't get her in - she was too spooked.

Chris decided it would be best if we let her be for a while and she spent a couple of hours on her own, clearly wishing she was with the flock. He came back after lunch with more sheep nuts and we tried again. This time she followed him in and I was able to shut the gate - success!!

This evening I baked a blueberry lemon drizzle cake, and cut up the other cakes, ready for an early start in the morning. The gluten-free chocolate brownies were very crumbly, as was the mincemeat fruit cake. The gingerbread had more structural integrity but was very sticky! At least none of them are going to be dry...
