small town life

Sage Thrasher (Oreoscoptes montanus)

I was on a road not more than ten miles from where I live and this guy hopped out in front of me on the road. So I am trying to get a picture, look it up in the bird book, keep the sun out of the camera, and what ever else.. Then it flies across the road into this bush just slightly above eye level and waits for me to fire off a bunch of frames. How lucky am I today! This bird has been seen fewer than 5 times in my county.
