Is not the Ferrymead Causeway worth seeing?

"Is not the Giant's-Causeway worth seeing?" JOHNSON. "Worth seeing, yes; but not worth going to see." BOSWELL. - from Boswell: 'Life of Johnson'

I think that Boswell would have decided that the Ferrymead Causeway wasn't worth going to see either. It did look very picturesque this morning though, reflections and all, with many men and much machinery in place, starting to work on the reconstruction needed after all the earthquake damage. I've got an idea that an upgrade was slated anyway. You'll be able to see the Southern Alps in the background, with fresh snow on top.

We're fortunate to have the causeway, even if it may not be worth going to see. Apart from getting us from A to B, the bird life is wonderful out in the estuary.

It's going to take 6+ months to reconstruct it, and in the meantime it takes a mere 3 minutes more to drive around McCormacks Bay instead. I always have a decko to see if the spoonbills are in residence.

I've been having a decko in the kitchen too. There's a mouse in the house! He's in danger of becoming blipped - but only if I'm quick enough :) The camera's waiting!!!
