But, then again . . . . .

Lady Muck.

We had a little al fresco lunch party today. The Old Lady's grandson and family came from Stratford to visit and the blip is of TOL waiting to be waited on - hand and foot - as befits a lady of her status. For some reason that is completely beyond me, this portrait makes me think of Vita Sackville-West or one of that crowd.

The party went very well, the accidental timing meant that we started eating just after TOL's lunch-time carer arrived so she was press-ganged to join us. She is very protective of her charge and we do tend to treat her like one of the family; the log that all the carers have to fill in becomes interesting reading on days such as this as she is technically working; the phrase, "Had a lovely chat" regularly features, while other, more vague descriptions, are also used extensively.
It is clearly specified in their "work plan" that a significant portion of their duties is to provide companionship, a philosophy which receives our full approval but, we would be grateful if you would keep some of the less formal aspects of their work under your hats.
